Precision AF App Portal Privacy Statement
The development of the Precision AF App is supported by and undertaken within the [School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide (“ University”, “we”, “us”, “our” ). The University has been funded by the Medical Research Future Fund to develop the Precision AF App. The Precision AF App is to improve your understanding of Atrial fibrillation (AF) and guide you through a journey of lifestyle changes essential for good management of AF.
This Statement outlines how we collect, hold and use your Personal Information, as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) when you use the Precision AF App. The University’s Privacy Policy also governs how we handle Personal Information, including Health Information (“Health Data”).

The Precision AF App uses the Miroma Project Factory honeycomb (backend) data to collect data to track how our participants interact with the platform. This data includes the number of visits to the App, the time and date of visits to the platform and its pages, where the user came from, what the user did on the platform and whether the user has completed any activities such completing surveys.

The data collected by the Precision AF App will be and anonymised for research purposes only. All identifying information including your first name and email address will either be removed or obfuscated following download to ensure anonymity for research purposes. Data will only be treated in this way for research purposes when the research institution complies with relevant data protection requirements and when sufficient ethics approvals have been obtained.
The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we disclose your Personal Information, including Health Data
Your Personal Information, including Health Data, may be disclosed to third party IT service providers and third party research partners. It will only be disclosed to and accessed by such third parties to the extent necessary for them to provide their services or conduct the research activity. Your data will be deidentified prior to being disclosed to a third party.
